India win double medal at Chess Olympiad

At the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, India won silver in the men's section and bronze in the women's, uniquely securing podium finishes in both categories. The men's team, defending champions from 2024, finished second to hosts Uzbekistan, with key players like D Gukesh and Arjun Erigaisi shining. 

The women's team overcame a mid-tournament setback but secured bronze behind gold-winning China, led by standout B Savitha Shri. India's dual success also earned them the Nona Gaprindashvili Trophy for best overall federation.
