A massive Russian drone and missile assault on Kyiv on early August 28 killed at least 14 people and injured 48 others, local officials reported, marking one of the largest air attacks of the war. 

The strike, which included a rare hit in the city center, shattered weeks of relative calm in the Ukrainian capital and coincided with stalled US-led peace efforts.
