1 dead after residential fire in Saskatoon

The Saskatoon Fire Department says one person is dead after a fire in a home in the 400 block of Avenue I South in Saskatoon on April 3.

The fire department has not identified the person. The department said its crews responded to the fire in the city's Riversdale neighbourhood earlier in the day, according to a news release.

Fire crews found one person inside the residence, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the fire department said.

The fire department said that its crews remain on site and are continuing their investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
