Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to captain Bihar at 15

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a 15-year-old batting prodigy, has been named captain of Bihar's cricket team for the first two matches of the 2026-27 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. 

Having debuted in first-class cricket at 12 and captained India U-19 in youth ODIs, Sooryavanshi brings leadership experience despite limited international exposure. Recently, he impressed in a T20I series against New Zealand. 

The Bihar Cricket Association sees this role as key to his development. Bihar's campaign starts November 14 against Saurashtra in Indore.
