ADB President’s visit to support next phase of Sri Lanka’s growth

Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda arrived in Sri Lanka on March 23 for a three-day official visit.
The visit aims to strengthen economic cooperation, engage stakeholders and assess damage caused by Cyclone Dithva.
He expressed confidence that the visit would provide valuable insights into key requirements for the country’s next phase of development.
During his visit:
He was received at Bandaranaike International Airport by Deputy Minister Anil Jayantha Fernando.
He inspected operations at the Port of Colombo.
He met private sector representatives.
He is also scheduled to visit affected areas, including Ambalangoda, to assess damages and engage with local communities.
Kanda is expected to hold discussions with the President on economic recovery, development financing and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
