Ex-TN Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi took Rs 400 crore from schools over certificates: Minister Nirmal Kumar

Tamil Nadu Minister Nirmal Kumar accused DMK leader and former School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi of collecting over Rs 400 crore from private schools under the pretext of party funds by demanding payments for issuing certificates. 

Mahesh was arrested in a Rs 100-crore bribery case involving approvals and clearances for more than 1,000 schools during his 2021-2026 tenure. 

Investigations by police and the Enforcement Directorate continue under corruption and money laundering laws, while DMK leaders deny the charges as politically motivated.
