A continuous awareness campaign titled ‘Voice of Justice’, organised by the Thayaga Seyalani organisation, will commence today (August 14) in the North and continue until August 17, calling for international justice over the alleged genocide of Tamils.

The excavation of the Chemmani mass grave reached 100 days last Saturday (8), and more than 500 human skeletal remains have reportedly been identified from the site so far.

Against this backdrop, the Thayaga Seyalani organisation has organised the ‘Voice of Justice – 2’ campaign, calling for justice for those allegedly killed and buried at the Chemmani mass grave and urging that accountability be ensured.

Accordingly, awareness activities relating to the Chemmani mass grave and the alleged genocide against Tamils will be conducted from August 14 until August 16.

An awareness protest is scheduled to be held near the Chemmani mass grave on August 17.

A large number of people, including relatives of those who were allegedly forcibly disappeared, representatives of Tamil national political parties, religious leaders, human rights and civil society activists, university students and members of the public, are expected to participate in the campaign.
