Workers’ remittances increase by 20.1 percent; Central Bank of Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan migrant workers remitted 712 million US dollars to the country in October 2025, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
From January to October this year, a total of 6.52 billion US dollars has been received from migrant workers.
Compared to the corresponding period last year, this marks a 20.1 percent increase.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank reports that the tourism sector earned 2 billion US dollars in the first nine months of this year.
