77-year-old dead after collision in Prince Edward County

A 77-year-old man is dead after being hit by a motorcycle in Prince Edward County on the night of May 30, police say.

The collision occurred at the intersection of County Road 17 and Miller Road just after 8 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release May 31.

The man from Prince Edward County, a community southwest of Kingston, was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries. The motorcyclist also sustained minor injuries.

Following the collision, County Road 17 between Lucks Crossroad and McKinley/Mitchells Crossroads was closed for several hours, before later reopening.
