Electricity Board Prepared to Power New Year Celebrations

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has made arrangements to provide electricity for Tamil and Sinhala New Year celebrations and various events nationwide this month, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Vijith Herath announced.

Speaking at the media briefing in Colombo on April 7, he stated that once requisite fees are paid, necessary arrangements to supply power for such events are already in place. From 15 to 19 April, organisers can receive electricity from the CEB upon completing payment.

He emphasised the importance of responsible electricity usage during festive periods and confirmed that the CEB will ensure uninterrupted power supply to these celebrations.
