IPL 2027 auction likely to be held in Goa on December 16

The IPL 2027 players auction will return to India, held in Goa on December 16 after three years abroad in Dubai, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi. 

This mini-auction will finalize player lists for franchises by November 15, 2026. The auction date clashes with an India-Sri Lanka ODI in Bengaluru, though venue changes remain undecided. 

Additionally, the BCCI is reviewing the controversial Impact Player rule, criticized for diminishing all-rounders' roles, with decisions pending after franchise feedback.
