Plans to build two new wireless towers in Yukon’s capital city are in the works, a move the territory’s economy minister says could help 9,000 residents.
Bell Mobility on November 5 announced the plans to build the towers in Whitehorse. A company spokesperson said they would improve wireless services as the city grows.
Economy Minister Jen Gehmair said news of this investment is “welcome” in the territory. She said in a statement that the new towers would improve 4G and 5G wireless, improve network reliability and data speeds.
