3-year-old drowns at beach in Long Sault

A three-year-old is dead after a drowning incident at Mille Roches Beach in Long Sault, Ont., Ontario Provincial Police said.

Emergency services responded to a call about a child at the beach with no vital signs on July 24 at about 5:45 p.m., OPP said in a news release. 

Off-duty medical professionals were conducting resuscitation efforts and the Cornwall paramedic service took the child to hospital, where they were declared dead. Police are not releasing the child's identity and are investigating the drowning.
