3 dead in 3 separate road incidents in Quebec

Three people died in three separate road incidents in Quebec overnight.

At about 12:30 a.m., according to a Sûreté du Québec press release, emergency services were called to the scene where a vehicle had veered off Route 132 East, near Chemin Mistral, in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse.

The SQ said for unknown reasons, the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, appears to have lost control of his vehicle. The 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hours later, at about 3:20 a.m., emergency services were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Route 138 near Franquelin.

In its press release, the SQ said four people were in the vehicle when the driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason.

All four occupants were transported to hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The other three victims remain in critical condition, and their lives are in danger.

Emergency services were called around 6 a.m. about the third car accident which happened on Route 138 in Saint-Tite-des-Caps. Two people were inside the vehicle: a man and a woman in their 30s, who were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The 37-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
