Iran ready to surrender enriched uranium
24-May-2026.
Iran has agreed in principle to give up its highly enriched uranium stockpile as part of a tentative peace deal with the US to end West Asia conflicts and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. While details on uranium disposal remain unresolved, this marks a significant shift after Iranian resistance.
The US demands a preliminary commitment to avoid renewed hostilities. Future talks will address uranium management and enrichment limits, alongside releasing frozen Iranian assets. The deal follows escalating US-Iran hostilities, including strikes killing Iran's supreme leader.
