20-May-2026.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, appointed on May 10, plans a significant cabinet expansion to include alliance partners and supporters ahead of the state's first Assembly session.
The Indian National Congress may receive two ministerial positions, and the SP Velumani faction up to five, with the ministry potentially growing to 34 members. The expansion aims to balance political and regional interests, with TVK retaining key portfolios. The oath ceremony will occur at Raj Bhavan, followed by the Governor's address and the 2026-27 State Budget presentation.
