12 killed, 30 injured in Pakistan blast

A blast near Aman Mela in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, killed at least 12 and injured 30. The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed responsibility. 

This attack follows rising militant violence and recent border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with Pakistan accusing Afghan Taliban of harboring TTP militants. Afghan authorities deny this. 

The incident escalates tensions amid international mediation efforts. Dera Ismail Khan, near militant-prone South Waziristan, was also targeted in a deadly December 2023 suicide bombing by a TTP offshoot.
