Tissa Kuttiarachchi Questioned for Five Hours at Financial Crimes Investigation Division

Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) parliamentarian Tissa Kuttiarachchi left the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday (16) after giving a statement for approximately five hours in connection with an alleged irregularity at the State Uva Investment Bank.

Kuttiarachchi appeared at the Financial Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at around 9.00 a.m. on September 16, 2026, to provide a statement regarding the alleged irregularities at the State Uva Investment Bank.

He appeared before the FCID to provide a statement as part of an investigation.

Speaking to the media before entering the premises, the former parliamentarian said he had been summoned in connection with an investigation and that he would be able to provide details only after answering the questions put to him by the investigators.

“I have not committed any fraud or corruption,” he said.
