Sajith Premadasa States Readiness to Face Any Investigations

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa declared he is ready to face any investigations initiated by the government regarding housing development activities undertaken during his term.

He responded to recent statements by Cabinet Spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa, who noted that the National Housing Authority had submitted a report alleging irregularities in the "Sevana Model Village Housing Scheme" implemented during the good governance government era.

Premadasa reiterated that he carried out development work lawfully, emphasizing that accusing development efforts as criminal acts is misguided. He said some in the government are treating national development as a crime.

He added that the opposition would fully support all plans aimed at solving the people's problems, despite the government's current inaction on major public issues, accusing it of operating solely on debt acquisition.
