Give Us the Mandate Again and We Will Govern Effectively, Says Mahinda Rajapaksa

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that people have once again rallied around his party and urged them to return power to his camp, promising effective governance.

Speaking to the media after attending an event in Kalutara on June 14, Rajapaksa said the public continues to face severe hardships and economic difficulties.

He questioned whether many people were even able to obtain sufficient food and maintained that his party remains politically strong.

Rajapaksa argued that politics driven by hatred can deliver only short-term success and claimed that the current Government has fallen into such a situation.

He also stated that efforts to reorganise and strengthen the party had progressed successfully and that public support was returning.
