Deadline Set for Submission of Asset and Liability Declarations
05-Aug-2025.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has announced that public officials who fail to submit their asset and liability declarations to the head of their respective institutions by August 31, 2025, will face legal action under Section 90 of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023. Furthermore, fines will be imposed for late submissions.
According to the statement issued by the Commission, officials required to submit their declarations as of March 31, 2025, must do so through the head of their respective institutions, who will then forward the documents to the Commission. An initial grace period was provided until June 30, 2025.
Failure to meet the extended deadline of August 31, 2025, will result in appropriate legal proceedings under the aforementioned Act. Declarations submitted between June 30 and August 31 will be subject to fines in accordance with legal provisions.
Officials who have yet to submit their declarations are urged to do so promptly to potentially reduce the amount of the fine. The Commission will facilitate this process.
If declarations submitted after June 30, 2025, are not accepted by the respective institutional heads, officials are advised to notify the Commission’s Asset and Liability Division via telephone (0112596359 / 0767011954), fax (0112587287), or email (assetsciaboc@gmail.com / assetsgciaboc.gov.lk).
