CM Vijay transferred vigilance chief after 2 months amid row over his appointment

Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay transferred IPS officer A Arun from Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) after less than two months, replacing him with C Mageshwari IPS. Arun, previously Chennai Police Commissioner, faced criticism and judicial scrutiny over alleged political bias and integrity concerns during his brief DVAC tenure. 

The Madras High Court emphasized the need for the DVAC head to be above suspicion, citing past leaders' sterling reputations. Arun was reassigned as Police Academy Director in a significant bureaucratic reshuffle.
