2138 Complaints on Corruption and Bribery received in 2025

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has received 2,138 complaints related to corruption and bribery so far this year, out of which 45 individuals have been identified as guilty.

Between January 1 and May 31, CIABOC conducted 44 special raids. During these, 31 people were arrested on corruption charges, including 8 police officers.

Furthermore, in the past six months, 42 legal cases have been filed in the Colombo High Court concerning corruption, bribery, and illegal accumulation of assets. CIABOC confirmed that 45 individuals were found guilty within this period.
