Amazon and other giants like Microsoft, Google, and Meta plan massive AI investments, totaling around $700 billion in 2024. 

However, the rapid growth of energy-intensive AI data centers has sparked environmental worries, leading to community opposition and potential state legislation to regulate or halt new constructions.
