80-year-old retired engineer killed in temple lift accident in Karnataka

An 80-year-old retired engineer named Kumaraswamy died after being trapped under a lift at Karnataka's Dattatreya Swamy Temple in Shivamogga during morning prayers. 

Responders rescued him and rushed him to McGann Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. 

The police registered an unnatural death report following a complaint by his wife and are investigating possible mechanical faults or negligence contributing to the fatal incident.
