BSNL launches satellite phone for Rs 1.34 lakh

BSNL has introduced a satellite phone in India priced at Rs 1,34,166 to enable voice communication in remote areas without mobile towers. The device connects directly to satellites, making it suitable for defense, disaster response, maritime, mining, and adventure travel. 

Users require Department of Telecommunications authorization before purchase or use due to regulatory restrictions. The phone features SOS support, long battery life, and a rugged design. This launch complements BSNL's ongoing expansion of its 4G network across India.
