President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has stressed that good governance must be reflected not only in policies but also in the daily functioning of public institutions. He said every public servant has a responsibility to deliver efficient, transparent, and people-centred services while protecting public resources.

The President noted that citizens expect honesty, accountability, and professionalism from state institutions. He said rebuilding public confidence requires officials to perform their duties with integrity, free from corruption, political influence, or favouritism. According to him, public office is a responsibility to serve the people rather than a privilege.

He also highlighted the importance of improving the efficiency of the public sector through better administration, modern technology, and stronger institutional capacity. These measures, he said, would help ensure faster service delivery and improve the quality of governance.

President Dissanayake reiterated that the government's priority is to create a transparent and accountable administration that supports economic recovery and national development while safeguarding the interests of all citizens.
