Government Aims to Make Colombo the Indian Ocean's Leading Port Hub

Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Anura Karunathilaka said the government's goal is to transform the Port of Colombo into the leading maritime hub in the Indian Ocean.

The remarks were made during a meeting with French Ambassador Rémi Lambert and representatives of global shipping giant CMA CGM. Discussions focused on expanding French investment in Sri Lanka's maritime and aviation sectors, including potential participation in the second phase of the Colombo West Container Terminal and strengthening air cargo operations.
