India's Swiss bank funds fall 8%
20-Jun-2026.
Swiss bank accounts linked to Indian clients totaled 3.25 billion Swiss francs in 2025, down 8% from the previous year, mainly due to reduced funds held through banks. However, direct customer deposits rose over 50% to 524 million Swiss francs.
These figures do not represent alleged black money, as they include various entities and exclude complex offshore holdings. Since 2018, India and Switzerland exchange financial data annually, enhancing transparency. India ranks 46th globally in Swiss bank holdings, far behind countries like the UK and the US.
