Leader of the Tamil Progressive Alliance and Member of Parliament Mano Ganesan has briefed Canadian Liberal Party MP Juwinita Nathan on the issues faced by Tamil-speaking communities in Sri Lanka’s Northern, Eastern, and plantation sectors.

The meeting took place during Ganesan’s private visit to Canada.

He highlighted key concerns including the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, release of occupied lands, demilitarisation of the North and East, release of political prisoners, land allocation for plantation Tamils, holding of Provincial Council elections, and constitutional reform.

He also explained the importance of these issues for Tamil communities across the country, according to MP Nathan.
