Open Hormuz or will obliterate power plants, oil wells: Trump

US President Donald Trump on March 30 said the United States was in “serious discussions” with what he described as a “more reasonable regime” in Iran to end its military operations, while warning that if a deal is not reached soon and the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened, Washington could launch sweeping strikes on Iran’s critical infrastructure.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said “great progress” had been made, and a deal was likely, but cautioned that if an agreement is not reached soon and the strategic waterway is not “immediately ‘open for business’,” the US would respond by “completely obliterating” Iran’s electric generating plants, oil wells and Kharg Island.
