Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam held a massive second state conference in Madurai district on August 21 where its party President Vijay identified himself as a lion and said in a fiery speech, ‘I am a Lion who marks its territory.

Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) Chief on August 21 chief made the announcement at a mega rally in front of thousands of his supporters.

Vijay also ruled out alliance for the state polls, saying the BJP was his “ideological enemy” and the ruling DMK the "only political enemy".

Vijay shouted, “Our only ideological enemy is BJP, our only political enemy is DMK...TVK is not a party that was started just for some political benefits”.

He also said that the contest in the 2026 assembly elections would be between the ruling DMK and his party.

TVK Founder said further, "Our priority is the safety of women, elders and children. Our government would be friendly to whoever needs special attention, like farmers, youths, transgender people, the elderly without care, and people with physical disabilities. TVK is not a party that was established solely for political benefits.

He called the ruling DMK government as “anti-people” and said that the state would see a political change in 2026.

He said, “Tamil Nadu has seen big political changes in 1967 and 1977. A similar history will repeat in 2026”.  The actor-turned-politician used the metaphor of a lion, saying, "When a lion roars, the sound can be heard up to 8 kilometres away in all directions. That lion comes out only to hunt, not for entertainment. It always hunts only living prey and wins through the hunt. No matter how hungry it may be, it will never touch rotten flesh or dead animals."

TVK party president Vijay accused the BJP-led central government of targeting Muslim minorities, neglecting Tamil Nadu's fishermen, and attempting to suppress the cultural and historical identity of the state.
Vijay questioned, "Did you come into power for the third time to work for the people, or to work against the Muslim minorities in the country?"

He thundered, adding that BJP's policies would never take root in Tamil Nadu. He also accused the Centre of trying to "hide the Keezhadi findings" and reiterated his demand to ban NEET.

Vijay alleged that BJP and DMK are showing as if they are political opponents and fighting in open but in fact DMK is having a secret understanding with the BJP.

Vijay time and again said What Stalin this is very wrong Uncle and said DMK government will be thrown out in 2026.

TVK chief confidently said whether any political party joins as alliance with TVK or not TVK will stand alone and face elections in 2026 and win the elections.

He said what happened ion 1967 in Tamil Nadu will repeat in 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. In 1967 elections in TN DMK won the elections for the first time defeating the Congress. DMK won 137 seats out of 234. DMK won and secured majority on its own.

The elections to the 234 seats in Tamil Nadu Assembly are expected to be held in May 2026.
