John Rustad resigns as leader of B.C. Conservative Party

John Rustad has announced he will step aside as leader of the B.C. Conservative Party.

At a news conference on Dec 5, Rustad said he didn't want to risk "civil war" in the party and asked British Columbians to get behind the next leader of the Conservatives.

Trevor Halford, MLA for Surrey-White Rock, will serve as interim party leader.
