A 25-year-old man is dead after being hit by a driver while walking near York Boulevard and Old Guelph Road in Hamilton on the night of February 16.

Hamilton police say paramedics were called to the area shortly before 9 p.m. They found a male victim with “serious, life threatening injuries,” according to a release issued Monday by the police. The man died in hospital.

The police's collision reconstruction unit is investigating what happened, and closed the section of York Boulevard, between Old Guelph Road and Plains Road West, for several hours after the man was struck to investigate.
