Sri Lanka–India Joint Naval Exercise “SLINEX-2025” to Begin in Colombo

The 12th annual bilateral naval exercise between the Sri Lanka Navy and the Indian Navy, SLINEX-2025, will take place in Colombo from 14 to 18 August 2025.
The exercise will be conducted in two phases: a harbour phase from 14 to 16 August at Colombo Port, followed by a sea phase from 17 to 18 August.
Participating vessels include Indian Navy ships INS Jyoti (fleet tanker) and INS Rana (destroyer), as well as Sri Lanka Navy ships SLNS Vijayabahu (advanced offshore patrol vessel) and SLNS Sayura (OPV). Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 412 helicopters and special forces from both navies will also participate.
The event aims to enhance interoperability in multi-dimensional maritime operations, improve mutual understanding, and exchange best practices. The harbour phase will feature sports competitions, yoga sessions, and cultural events, fostering camaraderie and strengthening bonds between the two navies.
