Los Angeles: Ennio Morricone, a 91-year-old Italian composer passed away in Rome.
He was hospitalized after falling down and suffering a fractured leg.
At 87, Morricone won an Oscar for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight.
Morricone, who was simply known as "Maestro" in his home town of Rome, scored more than 500 films over seven decades.
The film industry and the Italian prime minister condoled his death.
