Army Still in Genocidal Mindset: Says Gajendrakumar

Tamil National People’s Front MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam said that as long as the army remains in its genocidal mindset, no Tamil in Mullaitivu or the North-East will be safe.

He alleged that a recent killing was carried out by the army, based on local accounts.

He noted that in Mullaitivu, there is effectively one soldier for every two civilians, making it impossible for murders to occur without army knowledge.

He accused the army of housing perpetrators of genocide, sexual violence, and child abduction among civilian communities, causing severe psychological trauma to locals.

He called for the removal of all personnel involved in genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes from the North-East.
