Call for International Independent Probe into Chemmani Mass Grave: Indian MP Sasikant Senthil

Indian MP Sasikant Senthil urged the Indian government to push for an international independent investigation into the Chemmani mass grave incident, discovered in Jaffna. 

He emphasized that this is not merely a forensic issue but a symbol of suppressed truths and delayed justice.

In a letter to the Lok Sabha Secretary-General, Senthil requested permission to address Parliament on the issue. 

He highlighted that the remains found may belong to Tamils who were forcibly disappeared during the war, reawakening deep wounds among the Tamil community in Sri Lanka.

He called on India to act diplomatically to ensure transparency from the Sri Lankan government and reiterated India's responsibility to stand for truth, justice, and dignity beyond regional cooperation.
