Stalin slams BJP on only Hindi promotion

.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin launched a fresh attack against the BJP, accusing the party of imposing Hindi on non-Hindi-speaking states.

In a strongly worded post on X, he questioned the lack of reciprocity in language promotion, highlighting that Tamil Nadu had never sought to enforce Tamil on others.

“A century has passed since the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha was set up to make South Indians learn Hindi,” Stalin wrote. “How many Uttar Bharat Tamil Prachar Sabhas have been established in North India in all these years?”

Stalin reiterated Tamil Nadu’s long standing resistance to Hindi imposition, arguing that the state’s demand was about protecting linguistic identity rather than opposing multilingualism. “All we ask is to #StopHindiImposition on us,” he stated. “If BJP-ruled states want to teach three languages or even 30, let them! Just leave Tamil Nadu alone!”
