Tamil Nadu man attacked by finance company's loan agent for missed instalment

A 43-year-old man in Tamil Nadu was attacked by an alleged staff member of a finance company for failing to pay a loan instalment.
Anandhan, a resident of Selaiyur, operates a company supplying earthmovers. He had obtained a loan from Cholamandalam Finance to purchase a vehicle for his business.
He alleged that he was first threatened by the man, who claimed to be an employee of the finance company. Thereafter, the man waited for him in front of his house and attacked him.

Enraged by the incident, the Tamil Nadu Construction Work Owners Association staged a protest outside the Cholamandalam office.
The agitators dispersed only after receiving assurances of police intervention.
