Fire at Saint John Irving Oil Refinery extinguished

A fire at the Irving Oil Refinery that produced a large, black plume of smoke in east Saint John on Jun 30 has been extinguished.

The Saint John Fire Department was called to the scene shortly after 9 a.m. after reports of a product leak at the site.

"No injuries have been reported, and there is no threat to the surrounding community," the department said in a statement.
