The government is to take cautious, calculated steps in tying up with them in the introduction of 5G technology in partnership with any multinational company because of geopolitical rivalry.
Asked for a comment in this regard, State Minister Kanaka Herath who is in charge of the subject said Sri Lanka is mindful of geopolitical tension involved in the process and will decide in this regard without being caught in any rivalry.
He said that no country had registered its protest over teaming up with any technological giant at the moment. “Yet, we know what is in store if we make a move. Will make a cautious approach,” he said.
