MoUs related to defence, energy connectivity, digitization to be signed during Modi’s visit

A number of MoUs (Memoranda of Understanding) related to defence, energy connectivity and digitization will be signed during the upcoming visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sri Lanka, an official said on Mar 28.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that the Indian Prime Minister would visit Sri Lanka from Apr 4 to 6. 

He is expected to arrive in the country in the evening of Apr 4.

Prime Minister Modi will also travel to Anuradhapura where he will attend religious observances at Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi which was cited by Mr. Misri as a symbol of historic ties between the two countries. 

In Anuradhapura, he will also inaugurate some India–funded projects.
