45 Human Skeletons Recovered So Far in Chemmani

In Chemmani, Jaffna, 45 human skeletons have been recovered from the mass grave site, and in the newly excavated section, a skull has also been identified.

Attorney V.S. Niranjan shared this information while speaking to the media regarding the Chemmani mass grave excavation.

He further stated: “The tenth day of the second phase of excavation in the Chemmani human mass grave case was conducted yesterday before Jaffna Magistrate A.A. Anandarajah.”

“In total, 45 human skeletons have been identified so far, of which 42 have been excavated. On July 5, three additional skeletons were identified. A skull was found in a suspected area marked by survey maps.”
