A 13-year-old boy from Tiruppur in Tamil nadu died by suicide after his parents scolded him for using his phone excessively, police said.

The incident occurred on June 17 night after the boy, Siddharth, returned from school and continued using his mobile phone, as per his usual behaviour, sources said. His parents reportedly scolded him for his excessive phone usage, which had become a regular habit.

Following the confrontation with his parents, Siddharth consumed pesticide and subsequently fell ill, collapsing on his bed. His parents immediately took him to a nearby hospital, but medical personnel declared him dead upon arrival.
