President Anura Meets German President

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, currently on an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, was warmly received by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. 

The ceremonial welcome took place at the Bellevue Palace in Berlin, where President Dissanayake was accorded full military honors, including a guard of honor and an inspection of the German Armed Forces’ parade.

Following the official reception, bilateral discussions were held between President Dissanayake and President Steinmeier. These talks focused on strengthening economic and international relations between the two countries.

Special emphasis was placed on enhancing cooperation in areas such as vocational training and the tourism-based cottage industry. Both leaders expressed their commitment to expanding these sectors through strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
