Ranil Appears Before CID for Statement

Following a complaint lodged by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to provide a statement.

The investigation pertains to the importation of immunoglobulin medication, a matter that had earlier prompted Minister Rambukwella to file a formal complaint with the CID.

In response to the complaint, the CID has been conducting ongoing investigations. Several ministers from the previous government have already visited the CID and provided their statements as part of the inquiry.

In this context, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the CID on Jun 11 and remained there for approximately one hour to give his statement before departing the premises.
