Congress high command directs Karnataka to conduct fresh caste survey in 80 days

The Congress leadership on Jun 10 directed the Karnataka government to conduct a fresh caste survey within 60-80 days to address concerns of communities left out in the decade-old enumeration.

“It has been decided to clear the air over the earlier caste census with respect to its data accuracy and concerns of under-representation of certain communities,” DK Shivakumar told the media after his meeting with the AICC leaders.

"Our party’s agenda is clear: to protect the interests of all sections of society,” he said, confirming that the high command asked the state to take up a fresh survey.

“Data will be collected once again through door to door and online surveys. The entire process would be done in a very transparent manner,” he said.
