Pakistan dialled India, both sides agreed to a ceasefire: New Delhi

Pakistan reached out to India, and the two countries negotiated directly and agreed to a ceasefire, the government said on May 10, confirming the surprise truce after days of military escalation and heightened tensions between the neighbours.
"The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 15.30 hours (3.30 pm) this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would cease all firing and military action on land, in the air, and at sea with effect from 1700 hours (5 pm)," Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said.
The Foreign Secretary, in a brief press conference announcing the ceasefire agreement, added, "Instructions have been given on both sides to implement this understanding. The Directors General of Military Operations will speak again on May 12.
