Driver killed on 417 after walking onto highway

A driver was struck and killed while walking on Highway 417 in east Ottawa on Feb 25 morning, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The unnamed victim walked onto the highway after "entering the median" in their vehicle near the Anderson Road interchange around 4:30 a.m., police said.

The highway was closed eastbound between Anderson and Boundary roads until around 8:45 a.m.
